This work is a collaboration between ASM S.p.a., waste management company in Prato (Tuscany), and the Dipartimento di Ingengeria Industriale of the University of Florence. ASM has planned to build a new anaerobic digestion plant for the treatment of about 60.000 t of Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW). In particular, the plant will work with both source sorted biodegradable fraction and mechanical sorted organic fraction from residual MSW. It has been evaluated the possibility also to treat sludge from septic tanks. The aim of this study is to provide experimental data to the company that can be useful to compare possible management scenario of the new anaerobic digestion plant. In particular different feeding conditions have been evaluated by performing some Biochemical Methane Potential tests (BMP), with special attention to the correlation between the possible occurrence of inhibiting conditions and the characteristics of the substrate input.

Abstract
In particular different feeding conditions have been evaluated by performing some Biochemical Methane Potential tests (BMP), with special attention to the correlation between the possible occurrence of inhibiting conditions and the characteristics of the substrate input.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
