We present a brief survey on our recent results concerning the existence and properties of travelling wave solutions to reaction-convection-diffusion equations v_t + (H(v))_x = (D(v)v_x)_x + G(v) with different types of reaction terms G. In particular, we show that in certain cases the presence of the additional transport term H causes the disappearance of wavefronts.
