Self-help experiences in mental health encompass different practices. So it’s important to explore dissimilarities among them: the main is closeness vs. separation to formal system of care, which may influence individual and collective aims and expectancies. We have explored this topic with qualitative methods in two studies: for the first, founded on Grounded Theory, 13 focus group (92 Self-Help Groups’ members) have been carried out in order to identify different typologies, objectives, perceived efficacy and results, searching dimensions to explain differences. The second study (19 in depth interviews with group leaders-coordinators, both professionals and not) was based on qualitative thematic analysis, inspired to conceptualizations coming from Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. It was aimed to recognize individual perceptions about the leader-coordinator of the group (professional/not professional), his/her involvement in mental disease, his/her training.

Abstract
It was aimed to recognize individual perceptions about the leader-coordinator of the group (professional/not professional), his/her involvement in mental disease, his/her training.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
