The knowledge of adaptive mechanisms used by local breeds as a way to meet their adaptation to different environments as cold and heat por instance is necessary to minimize the losses that may occur with the impact of climate change. The research was conducted in the Orido di Botri Forest Reserve, belonging to Lucca region, Italy during the winter and summer seasons. It was used 80 females of Garfagnina breed, all adult and in lactating stage. The collection of the physiological data were performed at 9 am, before the animals go to the pasture and at 15h afternoon. A significant interaction (p <0.01) between period and turn on the variables TR, TS, TR, TS, FR and HR was verified. In this study, TR was no significant difference (p <0.01) during the shifts in seasons, however no significant difference between the seasons. There was no season effect on average TR, indicating that the animals triggered mechanisms dissipation and heat effectively. This is indicative that the animals are well adapted because, even at high temperatures they keep the TR at normal levels.
