Siblings of children with cancer experience a substantial loneliness and subjective abandonment condition in their families, due to the deep involvement of their parents in the therapeutic efforts that are needed for the ill child. Guilt and anger must be moderated and elaborated in order to support reparation processes in the families. Here we explore the siblings condition in pediatric oncology by collecting the testimonies of a group of parents at the neurosurgery Unit of the Pediatric Meyer Hospital in Florence.
