This paper will discuss Lean Experimental Airport Design (LEAD), the application of decision making and project compliance electronic tools to Airport passenger terminal design project of the Italian Core-Network Airports. The use of innovative Lean methodologies and tools aims to foster good practices in the field of Architectural Technology for the design of Passenger terminals. This aims to reduce the overall project times, costs and enhancing the efficiency of multidisciplinary design teams of the Aviation Industry. Project data management and analysis was performed with ad-hoc Information Modeling tools developed referring to lean design methodologies for airport design and project information management. Due to the high level of interdisciplinarity of the airport project, Information Modeling is a crucial part of the design process, to be carried out also looking forward to the Operation & Maintenance phase of the Building Life Cycle. Further developments of this research may include the integration of this Airport Design tools into Building Information Modeling & Management softwares.
