LHCf is an experiment designed to study the very-forward production of neutral particles produced in collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Its results will be useful to calibrate the hadron interaction models of the Monte Carlo (MC) codes which are used for the interpretation of energy spectrum and composition of high-energy cosmic rays as measured by air-shower ground arrays. The experiment has already completed taking p-p data at s√ = O.9 TeV and at s√ = 7 TeV in 2009-201O. The detectors are now being upgraded and they will be installed again in the LHC tunnel for operation with protons at .s√ = 14 TeV, for p-ion collisions, and possibly for ion-ion collisions too. Comparisons between the single photon spectra and MC simulations, and a preliminary result about π0energy measurement are reported.

Abstract
Comparisons between the single photon spectra and MC simulations, and a preliminary result about π0energy measurement are reported.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
