The dematerialized building envelope represents one of the best formal value in a lot of contemporary buildings that today represent icons. Such concept comes true in a tension of getting rid of the barrier between building and the environment around it. In such an approach glass is the real protagonist. It is a while that materials and techniques development has allowed to build “high-tech” glasses façades. The article wants to realize a synthetic overview of glasses façades and to investigate some of the most important designing problems in the field of such enveloping system.
