This paper summarizes the evolution of the studies concerning the NDSA approach for estimating atmospheric water vapour and correcting for the effects of liquid water along microwave paths between couples of LEO (Low Earh Orbit) satellites, and - together with two companion papers presented at this symposium - focuses on some of the basic issues treated by the ongoing ESA-ANISAP study, presenting some notable results obtained so far.
