The aim of this work is to evaluate the performances of a commercial software, which “perturbs” the calculated dose distribution according to the dose discrepancies detected with planar or volumetric measurements in order to predict the actually delivered 3D dose distribution in the patient. The software was then used to evaluate the perturbed DVH for a sample of patients and to investigate the correlation between the gamma passing rate and the DVH modifications.

Abstract

The aim of this work is to evaluate the performances of a commercial software, which “perturbs” the calculated dose distribution according to the dose discrepancies detected with planar or volumetric measurements in order to predict the actually delivered 3D dose distribution in the patient. The software was then used to evaluate the perturbed DVH for a sample of patients and to investigate the correlation between the gamma passing rate and the DVH modifications.
