The aim of this study is the evaluation of the accuracy of the dose calculation algorithm available in the DosimetryCheck quality control system used for patient QA. Dosimetry Check allows for both pretreatment QA and in vivo dose verification. In vivo dose allows the clinician to see the dose delivered to the patient, so treatments can be assessed and modified in the remaining fractions if necessary. The software uses the EPID measured fluences of the treatment fields to reconstuct the dose distribution in the CT planning model of the patient. Since the dose calculation algorithm is different from that used by Pinnacle and Monaco planning system, this provides an independent check of planning accuracy as well as treatment delivery.
