Silver electrodeposition from [Ag][BF4] solution in [BMIM][BF4] has been investigated with the purpose of understanding the effect of the deposition conditions on the morphology of the coatings. Dense and compact silver coatings with crystalline structure have been obtained with a significant reduction of the mean grain size as a result of the increase of the current density. A discussion on the electrolyte mass transport properties and their influence in the deposition rate is also reported.

Abstract
Silver electrodeposition from [Ag][BF4] solution in [BMIM][BF4] has been investigated with the purpose of understanding the effect of the deposition conditions on the morphology of the coatings. Dense and compact silver coatings with crystalline structure have been obtained with a significant reduction of the mean grain size as a result of the increase of the current density. A discussion on the electrolyte mass transport properties and their influence in the deposition rate is also reported.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
