The performance of a small (2 kW) Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy STorage system is modeled aorund the year, using local radiation data and pre-scheduled user profiles. The system is fed by a small photovoltaic system, and applies splitting of mechanical (pressure) and thermal energy (hot water). The system appears capable of reducing notably the connection to the grid and appears suitable for off-grid applications or for the connection to local smart grids.
