Il lessico delle discriminazioni. Metodi di analisi informatica per la sua individuazione e lo studio nei testi normativi

Over the last few years focus on the Italian media's use of a language defined as "discriminatory" towards Third Country Nationals living in Italy has increased. It has become such an issue that in 2008 the Italian Journalist Guild decided to draw up a specific code of conduct (the so-called "Carta di Roma") regarding the language used in the news about immigration and asylum. In addition there is a lot of recent literature about discriminatory language in the media and several authors indicate formularies of words that in some contexts may stigmatize certain groups of people. This paper will show the list of these words, explaining the reason for their choice based on the analysed literature and propose some applications on one hand to measure the presence in the legal and administrative "dictionary" of such words and on the other hand to offer support tools for legal and administrative document drafting which take account of these "dangers" present in some terms.
