Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system in operating theatre (OT) is aimed at reducing air microbial contamination maintaining proper indoor microclimate conditions. Objective of our study was to evaluate the influence of incorrect operational use conditions on air quality in a mixed-ventilation OT. A global approach including biological and particles monitoring, evaluation of microclimate conditions and diffusion of particles by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations was applied.

Abstract
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system in operating theatre (OT) is aimed at reducing air microbial contamination maintaining proper indoor microclimate conditions. Objective of our study was to evaluate the influence of incorrect operational use conditions on air quality in a mixed-ventilation OT. A global approach including biological and particles monitoring, evaluation of microclimate conditions and diffusion of particles by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations was applied.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
