This study aims to analyse the influence of two variables on innovative working behaviour: one is an individual variable, RBSE (role breadth self-efficacy) and the other, resulting from the interaction between the worker and the working enviroment is AC (affective commitment). A scholastic setting was chosen for the study, even though the scholastic institution may appear excessively bureaucratic and formal in plans and programs leaving little space for proactivity and personal initiative. However, the data is in line with the psychological literature in considering both RBSE and AC determinant for the innovative process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of two variables on innovative working behaviour: one is an individual variable, RBSE (role breadth self-efficacy) and the other, resulting from the interaction between the worker and the working enviroment is AC (affective commitment). A scholastic setting was chosen for the study, even though the scholastic institution may appear excessively bureaucratic and formal in plans and programs leaving little space for proactivity and personal initiative. However, the data is in line with the psychological literature in considering both RBSE and AC determinant for the innovative process.
