This study confirms and extends previous reports that LNK mutations occur at low frequency in JAK2 negative erythrocytosis. While their clinical significance still remains to be clarified, these mutations could represent an usefull diagnostic test to reveal an underlying clonal disease in patients negative for others more frequent mutations occurring in PV.
