BIBFRAME. Per un nuovo ruolo delle biblioteche nel contesto del web

The Library of Congress, in synergy with the team Zepheira, launched in May 2011, the project Bibliographic Framework Initiative (BIBFRAME); in November 2012 tke Library he published "Bibliographic Framework as a web of data: linked data model and supporting services", a document that aims to redefine the role of the tools of mediation between collection and readers, and, more generally, the role of libraries in the context the web. BIBFRAME is proposed as a reference model, according to which the catalogs of the libraries will be able to truly enter into the web; a web that is evolving from a network of interconnected documents (web documents) to a data network (web data). La Library of Congress, in sinergia con il team di Zepheira1, ha lanciato, nel maggio del 2011, il progetto Bibliographic Framework Initiative (BIBFRAME)2; nel novembre 2012 ha pubblicato Bibliographic Framework as a web of data: linked data model and supporting services3, documento che si propone la ridefinizione del ruolo degli strumenti di mediazione tra raccolta e lettori e, più in generale, del ruolo delle biblioteche nel contesto del Web. BIBFRAME si propone come modello di riferimento, secondo il quale i cataloghi delle biblioteche riusciranno a entrare realmente nel web; un web che sta evolvendosi da una rete di documenti collegati tra loro (Web di documenti) a una rete di dati (web di dati).
