Documentation of Hadrian's villa at Tivoli: digital survey for conservation and evaluation of archeological areas

The1 survey campaign carried out at Hadrian's Villa, near Tivoli (Rome) constructed between 118 and 138 C. E. by Emperor Hadrian over an area of 120 hectares, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESOO fn 1999, focuses on three areas of the great lmperial mansion: the so-called Area di Palazzo, the Courtyard of the Libraries and the Maritime Theatre. Topographic and 3D laser scanner devices, together with photo modeling applications based on Structure From Motion, provided to the research team a uniform framework tor the documentation of the archaeological area of the villaa at different levels of detail.
