Combaterea euroscepticismului, extremismului/radicalizarii si consolidarea increderii in valorile europe

Over the last three decades an extensive body of literature has identified the existence of critical attitudes towards the European Union (EU) in almost all Member States. Recent political developments show that the heterogeneous group of political parties, movements, or leaders associated to a eurosceptic discourse is far from being peripheral with temporary visibility. On the contrary, as reflected by the composition of the European Parliament (EP) elected in May 2014, this phenomenon gains increasing popularity. The present study analyzes the match between eurosceptic discourses and manifestations of political radicalism and extremism at national and European levels. The analysis combines the qualitative and quantitative approaches and focuses mainly on political actors with institutional representation; extra-parliamentary parties and movements are only marginally referred to.
