The paper illustrates the main features of the high valuable book "Archimede Latino" produced by the classical philologist Paolo d’Alessandro and historian of mathematics Pier Daniele Napolitani. The paper shows in details that the study produced by the authors has as much to offer to historians of mathematics and science as it does to scholars interested in Renaissance humanism, the arts, and court culture.
