La casa, la villa, il palazzo. Organizzazione produttiva a Creta in età neopalaziale e micenea (vino, olio, cereali e tessuti)

The organisation of production in Minoan Crete is investigated, with special focus on wine, olive oil, cereals and textiles cycles of production. Definition of the indicators for each cycle and of the scale of production is one of the main concerns. The issue of domestic economy vs specialised economy is addressed. Various types of productive units are identified, from the smaller and not specialised ones to the larger and specialised ones. After the anlaysis, it is indeed possible to verify in the sample the coexistence in the same period of small-sclale domestic units and of large 'administrated' ones, what inplies the question of palatial control. The definition of the production scale is especially an original contribution of the work to the ongoing disucssion on Minoan economy
