Il volume descrive il medio nederlandese, mettendo in evidenza le sue strette relazioni con le altre lingue germaniche occidentali sia sul piano linguistico che su quello letterario (anche se a quest'ultimo, si fa solo riferimento). Particolare attenzione è data alla fonologia. La descrizione delle caratteristiche morfologiche e sintattiche del nederlandese medio si completa con l'introduzione alla lettura di testi di cui si fornisce un glossario e ampie note esplicative. --- The book focuses on Middle Dutch, highlighting its close relationships with the other Western Germanic languages both linguistically and literally (even if the latter is only hinted at). Particular attention is given to its phonology and its sound changes. The description of the morphological and syntactic characteristics of Middle Dutch is completed by the introduction to the reading of texts, which provides a glossary and extensive explanatory notes.
