Scenari di trasformazione della Piana Firenze-Prato. Analisi e valutazioni sulla coerenza tra piani territoriali e progetti d’infrastrutture

This book is the report of a research carried out on behalf of IRPET (Istituto Regionale per la Programmazione Economica della Toscana) aimed at evaluating the consistency or possible conflictual aspects of the main interventions planned in the core of the metropolitan area of Florence, each other and in relation to the in-force planning instruments. The concerned territory belongs to the Metropolitan City of Florence and partly to the Province of Prato. It includes the lowland areas ("la Piana" - the Plain) between the Florence-Prato-Pistoia railroad to the north and the Arno river to the south, falling within the Municipalities of Florence, Sesto Fiorentino, Calenzano, Campi Bisenzio, Signa, Prato, Poggio a Caiano and Carmignano. The report is divided into four parts: 1. Territorial framework. Brief description of the Florentine Plain at present; 2. Territorial planning instruments, acts and programmes; 3. Infrastructure and territory projects in the Florentine Plain; 4. Evaluations on the consistency/compatibility between infrastructural projects and spatial planning instruments.
