This paper describes a research activity in BIM system applications on the topics of "constructability" of the architecture and on the validation procedures for the building process. To support this purpose, it was identified the architectural facility of a New Public Building in Pistoia, built by the CMSA construction company, which has promoted this research1. The work presented here has analyzed the procedures actually adopted in the various phases of the building process in order to define the optimization margins through BIM-based systems for the project and site management.
