In this paper an improved free-space technique for measuring the complex dielectric constant of materials in grains or powder (like the sawdust) is proposed. While the known freespace techniques rely on strong assumptions that are quite unrealistic in real experimental conditions, the proposed improved free-space technique is able to take under control these assumptions using a suitable calibration curve.

Abstract
