Florence is known all over the world for its artistic and architectural heritage; in addition to the large number of artworks, the city is rich of Romanesque architectures, Gothic architectures and , mostly, Renaissance ones. Anyway, most part of urban stock, characterized by residential not relevant buildings, has been realized during the XX century. Public housing interventions, carried out to solve the house’s problem represent a large number of cases in the city. Ferrovie dello Stato, since the beginning of the last century, built many houses for their employees. These interventions are realized both with masonry and RC structures. About their buildings, the archive records are an exceptional document for the quantity and the quality of informations and details. The present study aims to the seismic analysis of a typical masonry intervention characterized by two different architectural typologies. The seismic input has been described according to the Italian Code prescriptions, by considering the soil stratigraphy. For each type of building two different models have been studied, one with the real stiffness of slabs and one with rigid diaphragms. Four different patterns of horizontal forces have been assumed. The results, expressed by seismic performance defined as the ratio between seismic capacity and the corrisponding demand evidenced the structural behaviour of the intervention.

Abstract
The results, expressed by seismic performance defined as the ratio between seismic capacity and the corrisponding demand evidenced the structural behaviour of the intervention.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
