Roberto Innocenti. L'arte di inventare i libri

Unico illustratore italiano vincitore dell’ambitissimo Hans Christian Andersen Award (2008), insignito di prestigiose onorificenze e importanti riconoscimenti, tra cui il Premio per la Pace Gustav Heinemann e il Das Rote Tuch, Roberto Innocenti è tra gli illustratori maggiormente apprezzati a livello mondiale, raffinato interprete della “visual culture” internazionale, come dimostra tra l’altro il Certificate of Excellence assegnatogli dal «New York Times». Il libro, grazie a una ricca documentazione iconografica (84 immagini fuori testo tratte da grandi successi come Rosa Bianca, La Storia di Erika, Cenerentola, Cappuccetto Rosso, Pinocchio, La Casa del Tempo, L’ultima spiaggia, Canto di Natale) costituisce la più ampia retrospettiva dedicata a Innocenti, ed è completato da un saggio critico introduttivo di Giorgio Bacci. Il volume, conciliando impostazione scientifica (tramite un attento approfondimento storico artistico delle illustrazioni) e finalità divulgativa (con la grande varietà di tavole da sfogliare), si rivolge a un ampio pubblico, dagli esperti e specialisti del settore, fino a bambini e ragazzi. He is among the most popular illustrators in the world, considered a refined interpreter of visual culture, having received the Certificate of Excellence awarded by The New York Times. Thanks to its rich iconographic catalogue (84 plates taken from renowned books such as Rose Blanche, Erika’s Story, Cinderella, The Girl in Red, Pinocchio, The House, The Last Resort, A Christmas Carol), the book gives a broad retrospective on Innocenti, and contains an illuminating introductory essay by Giorgio Bacci. The volume combines an academic approach (with a careful historical and artistic study of the illustrations) with the intention of introducing the author to a wider audience (having a wealth of colour plates to browse), from experts and specialists, to children and teenagers.
