Abstract

Results of our experiments on the statistics of the intensity fluctuations of a laser beam propagated through the atmosphere are presented. We show that, on account of the nonlinearity of the detecting system, the non-lognormality of the revealed signal is not an evidence against the lognormality of the incident beam.
