The paper consists in an analysis of the acoustic behavior of some rooms of the University of Florence, corresponding to a series of architectural types as varied as possible. In order to improve the performance of the aforesaid rooms, a system of sound-absorbing panels was designed using finite element software to guarantee maximum efficiency, in order to achieve the limits suggested by national and technical legislation. The foresight study was then validated by experimental checks carried out on a prototype and the performance of a room was determined following the insertion of the designed panels.
