In patients undergoing PN, serum biomarkers may be complementary to sCr measurement for the detection of early AKI. Urinary NephroCheck™ and kGFR may serve as a sensitive and specific biomarker, respectively, to predict AKI. Their introduction into clinical practice might also implement medical treatment strategies within 4 hours after surgery to prevent AKI development.

Abstract

In patients undergoing PN, serum biomarkers may be complementary to sCr measurement for the detection of early AKI. Urinary NephroCheck™ and kGFR may serve as a sensitive and specific biomarker, respectively, to predict AKI. Their introduction into clinical practice might also implement medical treatment strategies within 4 hours after surgery to prevent AKI development.
