Built on the slopes of Mount Penna in Tuscany, the complex of the Sanctuary of Chiusi della Verna (AR), the place where St. Francis of Assisi received the stigmata, developed around an initial hermitic complex. It houses two churches, the oldest of "S. Maria degli Anger and the "Basilica della Madonna dell'Assunta", dated back to the gothic period. The construction of the Basilica begun in 1348 by the will of the count of Pietramala and later it was completed thanks to the generous contributions of the Consuls of the "Arte della Lana" of Florence, patrons of the Franciscan complex from 1432. This paper is part of a large project, underway from several years, which aims to document the entire complex of the Sanctuary. Based on the previous studies, mainly historical, this research has the purpose to develop an investigation of the Basilica starting from an accurate digital survey. Through laser-scanner and photogrammetric techniques S.f.M it was possible to produce 2D drawings and 3D models, creating a digital documentation archive for the study and monitoring of the Sanctuary.
