Nessun altro materiale ha segnato la tradizione costruttiva e la poetica della forma architettonica del XX secolo come il calcestruzzo. Una ricerca presso l’azienda Unical S.p.A., documentata nelle forme di un diario, è stata l’occasione per una riflessione sulle potenzialità di un calcestruzzo che sperimenta nella sua composizione l’uso di materiali riciclati e per una digressione sull'antica tradizione dello spolium, da secoli testimone di un ri-uso come prassi consolidata nell'arte e nell'architettura. Ma anche per un approfondimento sulle inedite relazioni tra progetto contemporaneo e tecniche della produzione fondate sul ri-ciclo, custodi di un sempre più effimero legame tra ciò che è stato e ciò che sarà, da cui è necessario ripartire per dare alle cose la possibilità di una nuova vita. A research with the Unical S.p.A. company was documented in the form of a diary. This research has been the opportunity for a reflection on the potential of a concrete mixture that experiments in its composition the use of recycled materials and for a digression on the ancient tradition of spolium, that was the witness of a re-use as an established practice in art and architecture during the centuries. But also for an in-depth study of the unprecedented relationships between contemporary design and production techniques based on re-cycling, custodians of an increasingly ephemeral link between what has been and what will be, from which it is necessary to start again to give things the possibility of a new life.
