The systematic revision of the Rhinocerotoidea collected at Nuceto and Sassello (Northwestern Italy) enabled to recognize the presence of two species: Eggysodon cadibonense (Roger, 1898) and Molassitherium delemontense Becker and Antoine, 2013. E. cadibonense is only recorded at Sassello; a lectoype is selected for this species and its description is emended. E. cadibonense displays some morphological features close to those of E. pomeli and of E. gaudryi, but it is larger than these two species and is characterized by advanced features, such as the constriction of the metaloph and the presence of a well-developed crista. M. delemontense is recorded at Nuceto. The occurrence of this species suggests an Early-early Late Oligocene age for the Nuceto fossiliferous deposit.
