José Cardoso Pires. Traduzione di Histórias de Amor/Storie d'Amore

José Cardoso Pires (1925-1998) è stato un importante scrittore del secondo Novecento portoghese, autore di una vasta produzione letteraria (racconti, romanzi, opere teatrali), tradotta anche in lingua italiana. Particolarmente attento alla realtà e ai cambiamenti della società portoghese di epoca salazarista, e socialmente attivo contro ogni forma di repressione, la sua opera narrativa risente degli influssi neorealisti così come delle contaminazioni tra letteratura e realtà quotidiana, anche a livello linguistico. La raccolta di racconti Histórias de Amor / Storie d’Amore, qui presentata per la prima volta in traduzione italiana, intende contribuire alla diffusione, in Italia, dell’opera narrativa di José Cardoso Pires. José Cardoso Pires (1925-1998) has been an important writer of the second half of the 20th century and author of a wide literary work (novels, fiction, plays) partially translated in Italian language. Cardoso Pires has been a keen observer of the Portuguese society and its changes during the Salazar’s dictatorship as well socially active against any sort of repression. His fiction work experiences the neorealist echoes and the influences between literature and daily life, also in his linguistic style. The short stories collection Histórias de amor / Storie d’amore presented in this volume for the first time in Italian translation, aims to contribute to spreading the Cardoso Pires’ fiction work in Italy.
