Sanguinetti’s book ofers a rich, valuable and highly instructive contribution on a still neglected and underrated topic of the Hegelian theory of knowledge: sensation (Empindung) is shown by the author to be both a central topic for the understanding of crucial issues of Hegel’s anthropology and epistemology, and a touchstone for the ontological project of absolute Idealism on the whole.
