The focus of this Ph.D. thesis is to develop an automatic procedure for the aerodynamic optimization of centrifugal compressors. This procedure is based on Artificial Neural Networks which use numerical results coming from CFD computations performed on a set of different geometries, generated from the starting configuration, to find optimum geometries.

Abstract
