The COVID-19 health crisis is making us face the dilemma of “invisible populations,” and migrants in particular, which brings with it a number of social and technological problems. On the one hand, lack of visibility is a systematic aspect of population management that can benefit both governments and the people concerned. Specifically, in emergency resolution, the coronavirus pandemic has made the use of artificial intelligence even more pervasive. This entry aims to highlight how technology, in particular artificial intelligence, can significantly influence the management of migration flows in the (post)pandemic society. A new concept will be introduced, that of “migration intelligence,” understood as a set of specific activities related to identity checks, border security and management, and the analysis of biometric data on migrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers.
