Le politiche per il cibo: l'agenda per la qualità del cibo di Camaiore

L'articolo descrive e analizza un processo partecipativo per un'agenda locale per la qualità del cibo che si è sviluppato a Camaiore (Lucca-Toscana-Italia) nel 2017. Tale processo ha preso avvio dagli agricoltori locali che miravano alla valorizzazione dei prodotti agroalimentari locali di qualità. Il caso evidenzia come i processi partecipativi generino un discorso contestato dove le sfide future, il valore della località e l'opportunità di percorsi alternativi sono attivamente ridisegnati dalle forze sul campo. In Camaiore (Lucca-Tuscany-Italy) a participatory process for a local food quality agenda has been established in 2017 and it’s described and analyzed in the paper. The area is specialized in intensive horticulture and since the more recent years was rather well appreciated in the regional and extra regional food markets before to reduce its competitive capacity in a specializing market dominated by the modern distribution. The participatory process was initiated by local farmers aiming to give value to local quality food products. Differently from many other similar processes in Camaiore the direct involvement of conventional farmers and their proudness strongly influenced the design of a development path quite different from the alternative food network always considered in the economic literature. The case give evidence how participatory processes generate contested discourse where future challenges, the value of the locality and the opportunity for alternative paths are actively redesigned by the forces on the ground.
