Abstract

In a small town in southern Poland, which has recently risen to the role of a city, three archaeological areas full of traces of historical, urban, and landscape meanings, as well as a history of the place made up of important stages in the evolution of Poland, are the ingredients of the design study presented in this book. This research is the result of the international collaboration relationship between the DIDA-Department of Architecture of the University of Florence and the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology. The book presents three musealisation proposals developed for three different symbolic places of this city, thanks to which memory and contemporaneity merge, giving life to reflections on the meaning of archeology, its conservation, and its communication.
