The aim of this PhD thesis is the synthesis of mono-, multivalent and stimuli responsive glycomimetics as modulators of therapeutically relevant enzymes. Mainly, the PhD thesis focused on the synthesis of iminosugars (as nitrogenated glycomimetics) employed as pharmacological chaperones for Gaucher disease containing for example a pH or light sensitive moieties. Also divalent and trivalent architectures were sinthesized to explore the field of multivalency against lysosomal storage disorders (Gaucher disease or GALNS). Another part of the thesis focused on the study of an oxidative reaction performed on several aminodiols. A final chapter described the synthesis and biological evaluation of carbonic anhydrases inhibitors containing sugar or iminosugar moieties.
