Luigi Mastrangelo. Leopardi politico e il Risorgimento

Mastrangelo passa in rassegna i testi leopardiani nei primi due capitoli, esegue il dibattito critico nei successivi, dimostrando che le affermazioni di Pietro Treves sulla "anteriorità od estraneità del Leopardi al Risorgimento italiano", sull'asse di un suo "risorgimentistico sentire" e sulla mancanza nel poeta di qualcosa che "anticipi l'uomo del 1848", sono solo un pregiudizio e una partita purtroppo chiusa troppo frettolosamente. Mastrangelo reviews Leopardi's texts in the first two chapters and executes the critical debate in the following ones, demonstrating that Pietro Treves' assertions on Leopardi's "anteriority or extraneousness to the Italian Risorgimento", on the axis of his "resurgent feeling" and on the poet's lack of something that "anticipates the man of 1848", are only a prejudice and a game unfortunately closed too hastily.
