Musicoterapia a cavallo: interventi di supporto integrato alla riabilitazione equestre per bambini con Disturbi dello Spettro Autistico

Taking into account the complexity that revolves around pervasive developmental disorders, with particular reference to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), we developed an infra-disciplinary therapeutic programme, favouring a non-invasive and strictly pedagogical-rehabilitative type of relationship. The main objective of our work, which involved two rehabilitation centres in Europe, was to foster the child's psychic and physical well-being through the interaction between sound, movement and touch, which was verified through a music therapy session on horseback. This technique enabled us to act consequently on the cognitive, physiological and sensorial level, obtaining positive results in terms of the quality of posture, increased attention and increased time spent on horseback.
