This PhD thesis focused on the phenotypic and genotypic characterization of multidrug resistant pathogens with particular attention to the emergent resistance determinants able to reduce pathogens susceptibility to last resort antimicrobials. In particular, carbapenem resistant Enterobacterales and linezolid resistant Gram-positive strains were analyzed.
