The retinal and ONH structural and vascular changes detected with OCT and OCTA techniques support the hypothesis that part of MS-plus patients with < 50% of PVLs carry retinal vessel abnormalities suggestive of primary microvascular damage and that the corresponding syndromes could be caused by vasculopathy instead of parenchymal CNS inflammation as in MS patients.
