This study, part of a greater research project, focuses on the role of digital technology in the teaching and learning of algebra with low achieving students at upper secondary level. Through a commognitive lens, it explores the case of two participants, Cora and Letizia, attempting to develop a discourse about the expression -a that can be positive if a is negative. The analysis highlights how the interaction with the digital dynamic environment may foster a change of the meta-rules in the two students’ discourse.

Abstract
This study, part of a greater research project, focuses on the role of digital technology in the teaching and learning of algebra with low achieving students at upper secondary level. Through a commognitive lens, it explores the case of two participants, Cora and Letizia, attempting to develop a discourse about the expression -a that can be positive if a is negative. The analysis highlights how the interaction with the digital dynamic environment may foster a change of the meta-rules in the two students’ discourse.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
