The main aim of the research project is to design a completely automatic tool for biomedical images and volumes registration. In order to achieve this objective, the alignment algorithm must be operator-independent, user-friendly, but also precise and accurate. The main advantage with respect to existing software is the fact that there is no need for any manual primary registration, especially where the initial misalignment is consistent.
