Un romanzo di formazione per l’Italia unita: la vicenda di Italia Donati

Even though several primary school female teachers during Eighteenth century’s last decades suffered from mayors’ and town councils’ persecutions, only Italia Donati’s vicissitude was known on a national scale. The paper aims at analysing why such event was followed by a large amount of people. It is assumed the relevance of Carlo Paladini’s (the reporter who followed Italia Donati’s enquiry) skills in adopting eighteenth-century novels way of narrating for describing Donati’s vicissitudes.
