High-resolution solution NMR is employed here to investigate the structure of alpha-synuclein aggregates using hydrogen-deuterium exchange coupled with NMR experiments. This approach can also be applied to the structural analysis of aggregates derived from patient samples using the seed amplification assay (SAA).
