Is a democratic society compatible with technological acceleration? The issue constitutes the topic this paper is dealing with. Some insights for its resolution are provided, as the ongoing historical context has marked the necessity of handling the topic with renewed urgency. First paragraph analysed briefly how the relationship between education and technology was dealt with between WWI and WWII. Then, the essay proposes a revised concept of Heidegger's “care” and it tries to connect such a formulation to new ways of teaching scientific subjects in technical and vocational institutes.
